Buy Twitter Accounts – Is it ethical to do this?
Normally, people will jive into trends no matter what they are. When it becomes a fad, it becomes a passion and so the rest of people would really work hard to get involved in the bandwagon. In fact, some people are becoming avid even if it is entirely irrelevant to their business. Sometimes it is even ironic that people are loving it even if they don’t understand the applications or the nature of the system. This nature is very common among people who are all driven with Twitter applications. For so many years now, people from different ages are using Twitter and as time passes, different necessities have been realized and were accordingly acted.
With the growing demand of Twitter as well as the issue in growing people’s network, different companies have come up with a unique service by selling out Twitter accounts. Yes, people have found an easier way to buy Twitter accounts because different companies are now shouldering this service. Accounts which are pre-built and are composed of numerous followers are purchased and then sold via the internet with the use of different services which are appearing like mushroom. This is quiet an advantage to people because they will have broader selections.
Although buying accounts for Twitter is helpful to some people, some are questioning whether this certain act is ethical or not. Some believe that no Twitter account much ever be transferred. However, for others who are so positive with this scheme, they defend this act by simply explaining that these accounts are just channels which are potential for buying and selling. It’s how the business goes. But whose claim is more acceptable? Think about how the issue has rooted. Should there be any reason for thinking that buying Twitter account is unethical? If there is, what could be the basis? And perhaps you might want to verify too how much will it cost you when you purchase an account for Twitter.
It was once explained, aiming to justify the objectives of Twitter, that Twitter is not violating the TOS when they buy or sell accounts. As per the rules indicated in Twitter, the selling of user names is covered with certain limitations. So how would you place your evaluation if one persons builds up his Twitter account for a certain period of time and then later sells it quietly to a bidder who pays higher? Well probably this will create some stain because of the possible misinterpretation.
Thus, to site a fair view, when people buy Twitter accounts, specifically mentioning that the account they bought was a personal account, naturally people belonging to that network will think that the tweets that they read coming from that account are made and owned by someone they have built a relationship with. In this light, I would say it is unethical. Marketers might see it as a potential tool though. It is a faster way to broaden their audience. It’s everybody’s prerogative whether they will buy account for Twitter, what really matters most is that they know what they are dealing.
